    Ribfest!!!

Burlington Ontario is home to Canada's largest ribfest.  Even though I am not a big fan of ribs Lisa and I headed down twice to check out the sights, sounds and smells, as well as sample some of the best ribs in North America!  It was a pretty interesting sight to see and not having been before we looked for the longest lines and stood for a bit hoping the lines were indicative of the quality and taste.  Our plan worked pretty well as we were not disappointed.

Blazin' BBQ had a good pulled pork sandwich...

...Billy Bones had the most bling...

...and the Carolina Rib King had the best beef brisket and sausage.

We did find a favourite ribber too, Bone Daddy's but I didn't get a picture of them.

    Ultra Mount Jersey Holder

Over the past few years I've collected a few pieces of Packers memorabilia that I have displayed in my office at home.  Some of this includes Packers jerseys both autographed and not.  When we moved into the house I hung them on the walls of my office but well, as you can see they didn't really look that nice.

I was looking for a solution and saw a lot of people put them in frames, problem is they are expensive to frame ($250+) and they are big and bulky.  I also wear some of these jerseys, the ones without autographs, when I attend Packers games and frames just don't allow you to easily slip jerseys in and out.  One evening I was browsing the web and started looking for alternates and found www.ultramountdisplays.com

The Ultra Mount Jersey Display Hanger is great for displaying Professional, College, High School and Little League team jerseys! Works almost anywhere; kids rooms, basements, game rooms, offices, garages and businesses. A great alternative to jersey frames and jersey cases. Save hundreds compared to a jersey frame or display case!  Only $29.99

As with pretty much everything I do, I went on eBay to see if I could find them there and found they have an eBay store as well.  I prefer to buy from eBay as they, and PayPal, have a good buyer protection policy and like the security it provides.  The feedback system also allows you to make a better choice among the many sellers and avoid the bad ones.  If you are like that you can find them on eBay at http://stores.ebay.com/Jersey-Displays

I have four autographed jerseys I wanted to display so I bought a four pack since the shipping cost difference was minimal.  They arrived pretty quickly considering they were sent in the mail and had to cross the border and I was quick to get one mounted up on the wall.

Pretty clear to see the difference.  The jersey hangs so much nicer, lies flat against the wall, does not bunch up and is a snap to remove if I want to put it on.  Very nice and well worth the $25 a piece I paid on eBay including shipping (4 Pack for $100 shipped).  I need to get more now for the rest of the jersey collection :) That and a bigger office!

Are you ready for some football?

So the preseason has begun and with all the crap going on in Green Bay with Favre and the Packers it was a tough one.  I was on the fence as I'd love to see him play again but not with the Jets :)  Since I have a ticket to the Monday Night Football home opener it would have been nice to see them retire his number.  That said there is nothing to stop me from going again when he really does retire.  There is nothing stopping me from seeing him play in Buffalo for the Jets either as I picked up a couple of tickets to go to that game too :)

I am a Packers fan but there is a curiosity to see Favre again and since it is just down the road so to speak I grabbed a pair of inexpensive tickets with a good view.  And as an early Christmas present I got a pair of tickets to the Packers vs. Lions game in December.  I was at Lambeau last year for a game in November where it was unseasonable warm (+10C) and again in January for the Snow Bowl (-10C and 20CM of snow in 4 hours) and there is definitely something different about being there when it is cold.

I am really looking forward to all three games.  Monday Night Football should be a blast and it is Aaron Rodgers first regular season start, in fact the first start for any quarterback in Green Bay in 16 years aside from Brett Favre and I have a good spot to see it all from.

While it won't be the same seeing #4 in a Jets jersey I am looking forward to Bills vs. Jets game on November 2nd.  I will be wearing my #4 jersey, the Packers one as I will not buy any non-Packers gear, and cheering him on although I don't think I care who wins the game.

And I'll be back in Green Bay in December for the final home game against the lowly Detroit Lions and sitting right over the players field entrance.

Some good seats to some good games and NFL Sunday Ticket for the rest.  I don't know about you but I am ready to get this thing rolling!
